A Bee’s Life

There is only
one thing, the thing that matters most to bees and is more important than
themselves: the hive. Above all else the hive must be taken care of. Inside of
this hive there is a bee about to go into the world for first time. For now we
will call him Dumble, Dumblebee. Today would be the first say he leaves the
hive.
A sense of
fear overcame because outside the hives there were birds, dragonflies, and
beewolves that would be looking for tasty bees like Dumble. But Dumble had to
do his bee duty. He mustered up his courage, fluttered his wing, and took off.
As bumble flew out of the hive and into the open he was blinded by great light
in the sky. As Dumble looked down at the land so far down below him, he saw the
land explode with so many different colors. Red, blue, violet, yellow, pink, orange,
and many other as well. Bumble flew down to a flower bigger than the rest,
yellow, with some red. It seemed to call out to Dumble. Dumble stood upon the
flower, his eyes filled with the possibility of nectar, but as he approached the
center he found the flower was almost devoid of nectar. Devastated, Dumble
decided to go to a place where no bee has gone before, so he could complete the
most important task at hand, collecting nectar. He needed fly into the city.”
Dumble had
to fly many miles to reach the city. What Dumble saw made him feel uneasy. The
streets below were more chaotic than Dumble’s hive. He shook off his disbelief
and continued his search for nectar. Then he saw it, a bright orange flower,
more beautiful than a sunset. Dumble zoomed over but right when he was about to
reach the flower he hit an invisible force. Every time bumble tried to approach
the flower he felt something smack him in the face, but this confused him
greatly as he could not see anything that could stop him from reaching that
flower. Tried, Dumble drifted down towards the streets. Filled with despair and
disappointment, Dumble felt that he had failed the hive, and then WHAM! Dumble
was hit by the windshield of a car and perished immediately.
